Forum: GratefulDead Subject: CLIFF's BACK! Offer closed...

And so is the offer in his honor...we aim to educate the masses...we aim to right the wrongs...we aim to make certain that if there ever is a vote that really matters, that one and all will say "you know, CLIFF and Tell may have been odd, and they may not have had better things to do, but they knew their shit" and with that we say:

Post your mailing address, if you dare, Tell will read, and you can delete, but not before he promises to send you, free of charge, marked with a sharpie, the following early era jems (that INCLUDE the Big Rock Pow Wow):

10-22-67
10-12-68
5-23-69
10-25-69
9-19-70

Some are repeats, some are just cause Tell is wokring out the kinks in a new CD burner, BUT all five are smoking one disk wonders that will set your shorts on fire, and all you have to do is post the mailing address, wait patiently, and then post a review of a few shows to make us believe that you are swayed to the early era high jinks...

Counting now...

Done counting...Whirlwind takes home the boxed set.

Thanks for participating.

Welcome back Tell!

Great picks, each and every one is special!

Sorry Will, they dont get it, but dont dispair, Cliff has some new treasures bookmarked!

Folks around here are more interested in finding the best version of I Will Take You Home, or the slowest version of Touch of Grey (Cliff liked that one).

This Youngbloods show is tremendous...

Worked out afterall...even had a few email requests on the offer, so all told, more than satisfied.

All that counts is that we continue to spread the good word. As to whether the horses drink when we lead them to water, well...that's another matter altogether.

Had a chance to listen to 5-23-69 over the weekend; a new favorite. Plus, while thinking of Florida, gave 3-24-70 a good, complete listen (Pirate's World), and love that one as well. Hmm, that means that between 12-29-68, 5-23-69 and 3-24-70 (no doubt others?), the boys really had some outstanding FL shows...

Yes, we time these things magnificiently, don't we? Of course, I have no idea why I am an 'editorial' "we" now, or if I may slip into the third person at any moment, but CLIFF and I seem to have joined forces in singing the praises of the early era, and joining that with the addition of a new CD burner and a pile of cheap but now usable disks, and we had to offer a handful of these shows. It was also easier than figuring out the 'trader's protocol' since I figured no matter how I did it (preparing the disks, etc) they wouldn't complain if it was a gift they 'won' on the forum...

Ha--now that's what I like to see (interest!). Seriously, though, I don't have anything to offer that you couldn't get from GDLive or one of our favorite forumites (starts with an A ends with a T), but if you need any of those 68 & 69 shows, it'll happen again soon...(Or, just ask).

How bad was I will take you home. The only thing I tried to do when I heard the first few bars was say - he wrote it for his baby girl - don't boo him.

Thank you, and thanks to Arbuthnot, I have all those Aug 69 shows...will now give that one more attention.

Assume from your 'handle' that you like ALL the time periods, and that is completely cool by me, but hope this adds a few early time period shows to your collection. Should be to you by Wed or Thur...

Be sure to let the CLIFFSTER and I know how you like them...he's especially fond, at least over the last week, of the 5-23-69 show.

Finally, as Arbuthnot discovered, the t-shirt and the bonus disk that originally were to be sent with this offer have been recalled as the "<78" sleeve logos were misprinted so that it appeared as ">77" which was entirely unacceptable...

Hmmm...I am not sure...30 minutes and counting. Perhaps the early era is a lost cause afterall.

Are you sure you don't want them? Pony express? Surely you are not too afraid to provide a mailing address for a moment or two?

You know I am easy. Whenever you get around to it.

Have you heard Raq? They are in the same vein as Phish. Listening to their 2006 NYE show now and they were fired up! They'll be in Portland in March. Only $7 for tickets so I might catch their show.

That's the spirit...I figured I had to spread a few of these around given the help I'd rec'd from folks here sending me all the early era shows I needed (all that exist as near as I can tell).
